Since she was admitted as a solicitor in 1991, Forum Law’s principal solicitor Annette Fontana has advised many small, medium and large businesses in Australia and overseas. Her clients have included government departments, publicly listed companies, private companies, external administrators and individuals from a wide range of industries and backgrounds.
Annette has been at the helm of the Forum Law team since 2006 and has a strong background in commercial and property law, including commercial litigation. She also advises on building and construction matters, insolvency, conveyancing, commercial and retail leasing and wills and estates.
She has been a speaker for the Law Society's Speaker's Bureau, industry groups and business groups and is happy to speak to groups about any areas of practice conducted by Forum Law.
Since 2006, Annette has also been actively involved with the NSW Law Society Inner West branch – arranging speakers and presenting seminars. Annette has been a member of the Law Society’s Business Law Committee since 2011 and assisted in the drafting of submissions on new legislation and policy.
Annette has been a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors since 2002.
In addition, Forum Law has been a member of Housing Industry Association of Australia since 2006 and is on the panel of lawyers for this group. Forum Law is also a member of the Australian Retailers Association and contributes regularly to their trade journals. Annette has also been an active member of Women on Boards, Australian Women Lawyers, BNI, is listed in World Wide Who’s Who and has participated in many other groups.
Andrew has worked with Forum Law since 2006. As a corporate and commercial lawyer, he works in a range of areas – commercial litigation, insolvency, contractual disputes and more.
His clients include liquidators, voluntary administrators, bankruptcy trustees, creditors, debtors, directors, companies (including publicly listed) and business owners. He has also acted for clients in property and family law matters.
Before being admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1994, Andrew gained litigation and commercial law experience at a boutique city law firm.
In 2000, Karen was admitted to practice as a lawyer and worked as a commercial lawyer for small and medium Sydney CBD firms.
Karen joined Forum Law in 2011, after taking a career break to raise her two young boys. She runs our accounts and office operations, and assists Annette, Andrew, Aaron and Jackson with commercial and property matters.
She recently completed a mediation workshop at LEADR – the Association of Dispute Resolvers – and is now a National Accredited Mediator.
Aaron joined Forum Law in late 2012, and he is principally engaged in property, wills and debt recovery matters.
A University of Western Sydney law graduate, Aaron was admitted to practice in October 2013. He is a highly motivated and dedicated solicitor whose interests include litigation, commercial and administrative law, and all aspects of property transactions and estate planning.
Aaron is a member of the Young Lawyers Committee for the Inner West Law Society.
Prior to becoming a solicitor, Jackson studied photography at the University of Technology Sydney and studied Business at the University of Newcastle (with a double major in marketing and management). Jackson’s artistic background as a freelance photographer has influenced his interest in protecting the creative works and ideas of clients through intellectual property law.
Jackson was admitted to practice in February 2013 and joined Forum Law in mid-2014. He is an attentive and motivated solicitor working mostly in commercial litigation, including debt recovery and deceased estate matters and in advising and assisting clients in intellectual property.
Jackson is a member of the Young Lawyers Committee for the Inner West Law Society.
